Kalypso snaps up boxed Jurassic Park game

Publisher Kalypso Media has signed the rights to publish Telltale’s downloadable Jurassic Park game in boxed form early next year.

Jurassic Park: The Game will arrive in retailers in the UK, Europe, Australia, South Africa and Asia in Q1 2012 on Xbox 360 and PC. There is currently no word on a boxed release for PS3.

We are thrilled to partner with Telltale Games to bring Jurassic Park: The Game to retail in many territories,” said Kalypso Media Group’s global MD Simon Hellwig.

Telltale has a proven ability to create amazing games with characters and plotlines that have been consistent hits with gamers, and being part of a franchise as enormous as Jurassic Park is a fantastic way for Kalypso to further strengthen its PC and console portfolio for 2012.”

Telltale Games co-founder and CEO Dan Connors added: We look forward to working with Kalypso in EMEA and launching Jurassic Park: The Game at retail. We’re excited to have their experience, distribution network and market knowledge in place to help the game achieve its full potential as retail Xbox 360 and Windows PC game in their territories.”

Jurassic Park went available to download on PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Mac last month.

MCV has contacted Kalypso for clarification on a potential boxed PS3 release.
