MCV AWARDS 2013: GAME’s Martyn Gibbs gets Special Recognition

Martyn Gibbs was presented the Special Recognition prize at last night’s MCV Awards.

It was one of two wins recognising Gibbs and GAME, which is he is CEO of.

Gibbs led the firm out trouble post-administration in the last 12 months – but this personal award was also acknowledging has work in retail for 25 years. He built games businesses at the likes of WH Smith, HMV and Gamestation.

GAME itself meanwhile reclaimed its Specialist Retailer crown after a tumultuous 2012, reflecting both the chain’s improvement, the efforts of its 3,000 staff and the reenergised exec leadership.

Gibbs and GAME wereone of 18 winners at the MCV Awards last night.
