More Dark Knight details emerge

Following last week’s news that

EA is continuing to work on its Dark Knight game

despite the movie’s arrival at global cinemas, more details have seemingly emerged about the title, along with suggestions as to why it’s being kept under wraps.

Kotaku reports that EA-owned Full Spectrum Warrior, Mercenaries and Star Wars Battlefront developer Pandemic is handling the game. The title offers a free-roaming GTA-style style version of Gotham City, similar to those found in titles such as Spider-man 2 and The Incredible Hulk.

And much like the aforementioned web-slinger, Batman uses a grapple-hook, along with the Batmobile, to get about town.

Apparently the game does not follow the plot of the film, and instead takes place after the big-screen events – which in itself sounds quite exciting, considering the open-ended ending to Christian Bale’s adventure.

However, the title is also said to be suffering from some development issues, most notably with the combat, which the site describes as suffering from a limited range of combat moves. There are also said to be issues with the camera – though this is by no means unusual for a game in this genre.
