New games category boss for Dixons

A reshuffle at Dixons Retail has seen its Nintendo buyer promoted.

Christopher Rogers has taken on the role of category manager for gaming, and is now responsible for titles across all formats.

He will report into Home category Tony Puddefoot.

Rogers has been working at the consumer electronics firm for one year and previously looked after Wii and DS games.

Former games boss Danielle Nicholls has been promoted to European business manager and will look after computing.

Dixons Retail operates PC World and Currys stores across the UK, as well as the Dixons website. The company was formerly known as Dixons Stores Group plc and DSGi.

After moving on this week, I will miss the games industry and many of the people in it,” Danielle Nicholls told MCV. She has worked at Dixons as the firm’s category manager for gaming since November 2008. Before this, she worked as a buyer for Comet.

Christopher Rogers has also become a member of MCV’s Retail Advisory Board.
