Signs point to pre-MW3 release for Battlefield 3

A number of UK retail listings are suggesting that EA will release anticipated shooter Battlefield 3 just days before Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 arrives on November 8th.

Both Amazon and Play say the game will hit on November 4th. HMV says an October 28th release is on the cards while Zavvi predicts it will arrive on October 21st.

MCV reported earlier this month that Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3 were preparing for a release date showdown.

Many inside the industry would be delighted to see the games go head-to-head on November 8th.

However, a quick browse on the many games retail websites reveals the early dearth of MW3 frenzy that has already commenced. Even the might of EA may struggle to square up to that.
