Software Sales Monitor: Market makes £60.9m

The UK games market fell by 50 per cent week-on-week. But that’s not bad news – it still generated 60.9m compared to last week’s record high of 120.8m.

Almost 2m games were sold at retail, down 40.8 per cent compared to last week’s phenomenal 3,289,421 units.

It was still a strong week for retail, with plenty new titles hitting shelves such as Saints Row: The Third, Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, and Super Mario 3D Land. Assassin’s Creed: Revelations reached No.2 behind Modern Warfare 3.

Over 30 games are due for release today (Friday, November 25th), the last big release week before Christmas. New titles include Angry Birds on PC, WWE ‘12, Rayman Origins and Zumba Fitness 2.
