SONY: Morpheus will be ‘the’ platform for multiplayer in virtual reality

Sony has backed its Morpheus headset as more than just a single-player experience.

Speaking on-stage at the platform holder’s E3 conference, CEO Andrew House outlined the virtual reality headset as ‘the’ VR platform for playing together.

While only one person can wear the Morpheus, House revealed that up to four other players will be able to jump in with DualShock 4 controllers and enter the VR world.

A number of VR titles were shown off alongside the Morpheus update, including Solfar, Golding, Eve Valkyrie, and The Deep.

There was also the unveiling of Rigs, a new VR IP from the Guerrilla Cambridge team.

Pitting two teams of three against each other, the title was specifically noted for its eSports-friendly competitive gameplay.
