Space invaders! New Angry Birds hits retail in April

The next Angry Birds game will bombard retail next month, MCV can reveal.

Angry Birds Space – the fourth title in the smash hit smartphone series – lifts off on March 22nd. And Focus Multimedia will release a boxed PC version less than a month later on April 20th.

The title will be joined by new Angry Birds Space merchandise, including T-shirts (right), books, sweets and plush toys.

Once again Rovio is pulling out all the stops for this year’s title, with a ‘high impact’ campaign. The studio has teamed up with several partners, including space agency NASA.

Focus has released three Angry Birds retail games which have dominated the PC budget charts. Yet Space is the first time a retail release has appeared within a month of its digital counterpart.

Angry Birds Space boasts slow-motion puzzles and zero-gravity gameplay.
