Standalone white PS4 dated for UK

Sony has confirmed a release date for the standalone version of its white PS4 console.

GameSpot says that the machine will be released this Friday (October 17th) in the UK.

It will include a 500GB hard drive and retail for 350. That’s the official RRP of the console although there’s plenty of 329 stock out there right now with Sony matching Microsoft’s definitely-not-official-but-still-advertised-on-TV Xbox One discount.

The white PS4 first featured as part of Sony’s Destiny hardware bundle – which, incidentally, was a big hit. Sony in July revealed that the machine would get a standalone release, provisionally dating it for September.

It was also last week bundled with Driveclub and will feature in Far Cry 4 bundles next month.
