The Last of Us ships 3.4m, is fastest selling PS3 game

And THAT’S why you keep releasing blockbuster games right up to the end of a console’s lifecycle.

[That’s also why you shouldn’t be afraid of releasing games in the summer.]

Sony has confirmed that it has shipped 3.4m copies of Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us across both Blu-ray and digital. It has also become the fastest selling PS3 title in the history of the platform.

These sales figures are a testament to the blockbuster quality of The Last of Us,” Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida stated.

The teams at Naughty Dog are true visionaries and their storytelling capabilities are second to none, this title is an undisputed demonstration of that. SCE continues to be committed to delivering unique gameplay experiences that redefine the interactive entertainment industry and The Last of Us is a perfect example.”
