The Pokémon Trading Card Game arrives on iPad

It may not strictly be the big Nintendo smartphone foray that some depicted, but The Pokmon Trading Card Game has at last arrived on iOS.

The free-to-play game is iPad and iPad Mini only for now, and is limited to devices with a Retina display (G3 onwards). It mirrors the experience already available on PC and Mac.

Free decks are offered from the get go, although of course additional premium sets are available too. Codes will also be included with physical theme decks and booster packs that unlock additional cards for the digital game.

The iPad version of the Pokmon TCG Online makes it even easier for fans to pick up the game and begin playing immediately,” The Pokmon Company International’s director of consumer marketing J C Smith.

We want to provide players with various access points to play and enjoy the Pokmon TCG, whether it’s the traditional tabletop game, PC and Mac version, or the iPad and iPad mini app.”
