VIDEO: Fully-fledged Assassin’s Creed game sneaks onto iOS

Ubisoft has, without much in the way of warning, sneaked Assassin’s Creed: Identity onto the Apple App Store.

The free game isn’t a spin-off but instead a fully-realised 3D Creed title set in Italy that relies on touchscreen controls. HD textures and dynamic lighting are also offered, as is a crowd system and day/night cycle, along with a number of weather types.

Beware, however – a training timing limits game time. It can be sped up with Abstergo Credits, which can be purchased with real cash.

There are also opportunities for players to customise their characters and level up. Again, cash can be spent to expedite things like crafting.

The game is currently available in Australia and New Zealand with a wider rollout planned for 2015.
