Twitch co-funding Kickstarter title

Live-streaming service Twitch is putting cash behind Studio Bean’s Choice Chamber.

The company has promised to match the remaining amount needed by the developer, which has been raising money through Kickstarter.

The studio was aiming to raise $30,000 by April 20th to make the title – prior to the announcement of Twitch’s support the amount pledged was under half of that.

The game is said to be the first built specifically for the streaming platform with interaction being at the core of its gameplay. One player must fight off a horde of monsters while spectators are able to either help or hinder them.

"The Twitch community has already shown extraordinary enthusiasm for interactive games using Twitch chat," said Brooke Van Dusen, the streaming service’s director of business development.

Choice Chamber is an excellent example of how developers can embrace this next-generation concept, so we are helping support this evolution of gameplay experiences in the age of social video.”

Studio Bean’s Michael Molinari added: Studio Bean is excited to have Twitch support us through the Kickstarter campaign.

The game itself would not be possible without the convenience and simplicity of Twitch’s broadcasting and chat features, and this whole dream wouldn’t be happening were it not for their help and support.”
