Wii Fit stock shock continues

Following Wii Fit’s spectacular plummet from the All Formats Chart, Nintendo has told MCV that it is doing everything it can to resolve the game’s UK stock shortage.

Accepting there was an issue, Nintendo told MCV: There are pockets of stock shortages in areas of the UK but we are doing everything we can to replenish shortages as soon as possible.

"To this effect we are continuing to bring Wii Fit stock into retailers across the UK on a weekly basis.”

Verdict Research’s Nick Gladding added:
I think there’s obviously an issue with the product cycle and the Wii Fit situation has been heightened by increased console sales.”

Don McCabe, MD of CHIPS is just one of the retailers feeling the pressure: Certainly with Wii Fit we’ve never had enough stock from day one.”
