Xbox One update introduces improved game demo support

Xbox One’s latest update adds the ability to download a title’s demo and subsequently unlock the full version of the game from the same file.

In an interview with Eurogamer, Microsoft’s ID@Xbox head Chris Charla stated the feature arrived as part of the console’s latest update – adding that he expects upcoming Xbox One indie titles to carry the option.

"That’s something that we recently turned on," Charla confirmed. "I don’t think we’ve seen any ID@Xbox games yet that have shipped with trials, but we may well in the future. It’s something that’s open to everybody."

Charla also explained the ID@Xbox channel will see lots more games coming” throughout the rest of the year and beyond.

"There are a lot in development for 2015, and some for 2016, too,” he said.
