XBOX: Star Wars Kinect game revealed

A new Star Wars game has been confirmed for Xbox 360 motion device Kinect at Microsoft’s E3 press conference.

Attendees were treated to a brief trailer on the main stage’s big screen. The video displayed a player-controlled Jedi taking out a group of stormtroopers and a mech before going head-to-head with Darth Vader.

Players will be able to swing their arm to wield an in-game lightsaber using the Kinect device. It was also confirmed that LucasArts and Terminal Reality will be working on the untitled game for Xbox 360, while Microsoft will publish the title.

Head of Microsoft Game Studios Phil Spencer said: LucasArts and Microsoft Game Studios will bring the extraordinary Star Wars action to living rooms around the world.”

The Xbox 360 Kinect Star Wars game is on course for a 2011 release.
