Zyngas latest attracts 33m users

Zynga has struck gold again with Empires & Allies, it’s latest Facebook title.

The free-to-play strategy game has attracted just under 33m active users in its first three weeks, according to GamesIndustry.

It is currently averaging at 6.5m users per day, and had a userbase of 10m just nine days after the game went live.

Described by the casual games giant as CityVille meets Risk”, Empires & Allies has been developed by a team that includes people who created Command & Conquer and The Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth.

As with all Zynga games, the title is free-to-play but allows users to purchase virtual currency, which can be spend on additional units and power-ups.
