500 million installs in just six months

Angry Birds flies past one billion downloads

The hugely successful Angry Birds franchise has surpassed more than one billion downloads on all platforms, Rovio has revealed.

This means the series has seen 500 million downloads since November last year, just six months till the last impressive milestone was reached.

The series’ astronomic rise in popularity since its release on iOS in 2009 has seen the series release on Android, PS3, PSP, MAC and PC.

The franchise has also spawned a series of merchandising, such as plus toys and a recently opened theme park in Finland.
