Charlie Hasdell joins PlayStack as Creative Director

Former Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe creative director, Charlie Hasdell, has joined UK publisher PlayStack.

Hasdell, who leaves a similar role at SIEE and playing a ‘pivotal’ role on the SingStar franchise, joins as the publisher makes some wholesale changes to their lineup. Hasdell’s near twenty years of experience is expected to help drive the continued push in new avenues for PlayStack.

“It’s fantastic to be working with Harvey [Elliott, CEO] again after all these years," said Hasdell. "I always found him to be an approachable, charismatic and diplomatic leader with a keen eye on what it takes to make a successful game. It gives me great pleasure to bring my skills and expertise to the amazing talent within the PlayStack family.”

“Having first worked with Charlie seventeen years ago, I saw first-hand his passion and creative eye towards the development process," adds CEO, Elliott. "It’s a real pleasure to be able to work with Charlie again now, learning how his capabilities have grown, and seeing him contribute those talents towards the future of PlayStack.

"Charlie is an indispensable collaborator who is able to bring together creative and technical staff with invaluable insights into both disciplines. These skills allow him to innovate across a broad range of technologies from virtual reality and augmented reality to mobile devices and console hardware. With his experience and insight, he is able to give new direction and purpose to numerous projects.”

This hire follows that of former Creative England and Gamespot editor Rob Crossley in July and entrepreneur Mads Jensen earlier in August.
