The most bankable game studios in the world today, measured by retail sales data
Below is Develop’s monthly breakdown of the world’s most successful games studios, measured by UK revenue at retail, with data provided by GfK Chart-Track.
The Develop Studios Sales Charts will be published on Develop-Online.net’s news pages at the end of each month.
Please note that digital sales are not included in the calculations, nor are retail transactions made outside the UK. The chart is intended to provide a snapshot of the most bankable studios in the world today.

Unsurprisingly, Naughty Dog takes top spot for June with the critically acclaimed PS3 title The Last of Us, which has won over the industry and consumers alike with its atmospheric gameplay and strong narrative focus.
Nintendo has also jumped into second place on the back of the success of 3DS release Animal Crossing: New Leaf, while Codemasters has also entered the top 20 in third spot with Grid 2.
Independent developers continue to steadily make inroads on publisher-owned studios, holding steady at seven working independently.
The USA fared well with another eight developers in the top 20, while Canada also had another three. The UK improved its showing on last month with three developers in the top 20, including Rockstar North, Codemasters and Traveller’s Tales.
