Development resurgence in UK capital

All this week Develop is profiling some of the UK capital’s leading game studios, as London enjoys something of a development renaissance.

After the thriving game development community of the early 1990s based in London began to fade away, many predicted the city had lost its status as a leading hub for game makers. Now an increasing number of new and returning studios are once again calling the nation’s largest city their home.

“Whilst many games companies have moved away from London over the years there is still a huge opportunity to draw on the unique resources London has to offer, increasingly interesting in today’s competitive climate,” said Headstrong chief Bradley Crooks.

"It’s got a massive pool of talent to draw from and it’s far easier to attract people from other countries. I think the fact so many other developers have returned backs that up,“ added Nick Rodriguez, head of the recently-opened Zoe Mode London.
