Digikhel announces iPad space mining game Orion’s Gold

Digikhel has announced its first iOS game – a deep space mining arcade game titled Orion’s Gold.

The game is set in a distant future, where all of Earth’s natural resources are depleted and humans must venture to the dangerous Orion’s Belt to mine for precious metals.

Gameplay involves mining as much as possible by distributing power to manoeuvre your ship, while maintaining optimum temperature by regulating heat and cold, and at the same time watching out for asteroids, which explode if not mined in time.

Orion’s Gold was first created at Global Game Jam 2013 under the name RestLess. Joel Johnson – Digikhel’s one-man team, has been collaborating with Ironjaw Studios and 3Quavers over the last year to prepare the game for commercial release.

Orion’s Gold will be released for iPad around 20th March. It will be priced at Rs 55, with the option to buy in-game upgrades that will allow players to survive longer and mine deeper.
