Next-gen entry in blockbuster franchise to release in 2014

E3 2013: Halo Combat coming to Xbox One

A new instalment in the Halo franchise is coming to Xbox One, Microsoft has announced.

Developed by 343 Industries, the latest title will be an FPS and release in 2014.

Microsoft said the game, Halo Combat, would take full advantage of the Xbox One’s architecture and features, including cloud computing and dedicated servers.

It claimed the game would run at 60fps.

The news comes as Microsoft recently announced it would be expanding the Halo franchise to other platforms, with Halo: Spartan Assault coming to Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8, and a new live action TV series based on the IP.
