EA announces Need for Speed Live event

US publisher Electronic Arts has announced that it will debut a brand new car show based on its popular Need for Speed franchise next year at UK race circuit Brands Hatch.

Need for Speed Live, which will take place on June 26th and 27th next year, is described as a unique festival and competition that celebrates car culture”. The publicly open event will showcase video games, music and cars, all of which will be geared to racing fans. It will also see a number of leading global drift racers compete on the track.

For over 14 years, Need for Speed has been at the forefront of automotive culture and this Live race event brings the spirit of Need for Speed games to life with all of the energy, adrenaline and sexiness that the franchise represents,” Need for Speed Live’s creative director Rod Chong stated.

Need for Speed Live will definitely push each driver and their cars to the limit as they contend with dramatic elevation changes and harrowing fourth-gear 100 mph drifts.”
