Edinburgh Digital Entertainment Festival makes expo space free for UK devs

The first Edinburgh Digital Entertainment Festival has opened its doors to British games firms.

The two-week event takes place from August 4th to 28th in the Scottish city’s Assembly Rooms and consists of a series of coding workshops and talks.

Developers are free to exhibit at the show’s Tech Hub expo.

Several big topics will take prominence, with a gaming focus on August 8th and 9th, talks dedicated to VR and future tech on August 15th and 16th, and a focus on ‘next generation’ arts and entertainment on the 22nd.

Attendees who take part in a workshop will be granted free access to the Tech Hub, which currently includes exhibitors such as BBC R&D, Flying Object, Reflex Arc; Sky R&D, LordMiller Productions, VRTGO and HTC Vive, as well as indie studios.
