David Bennett to lead marketing efforts across Europe and India

Faceware hires ex-Avatar animator as sales head

The recently formed 3D facial animation firm Faceware Technologies has recruited ex-Avatar mo-cap specialist David Bennett as business development manager.

Bennett will be responsible for heading up sales efforts of the company’s animation software in Europe and India, as well as building up studio relationships.

“We began with a desire to bring on a highly technical animation talent capable of illustrating the full capabilities of our Faceware product line to our most demanding clients and coupled that with the need for a development manager well suited for European and Indian software markets," said Faceware CEO Ron Ryder.

“David’s achievements at Weta Digital and Animal Logic, along with his knowledge of facial-specific rigging and animation technology, mathematics, and algorithms, make him an excellent choice for this position.”

Bennett has previously worked at companies such as Animal Logic, Vicon and Weta, the latter of which he held the role of facial motion capture manager, working on film’s such as Avatar, Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Tintin.
