Japanese developer Hironobu Sakaguchi, best known as the creator of the Final Fantasy series, is planning to form a new studio.
Sakaguchi left Square Enix after almost two decades at the company in 2003, having worked on worked on Final Fantasy from its debut until 2000’s Final Fantasy IX.
He formed the developer Mistwalker the next year, which developed console titles including Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey before moving into mobile development with games such as Terra Battle.
As reported by Siliconera, Sakaguchi said during a YouTube video that his new studio will be based in Tokyo, Japan and is currently hiring.
Regarding a name, Sakaguchi suggested that the company would be called ‘Dawnwalker’.
