Mobile game developer to test-launch first title in the summer

Finnish start-up Small Giant appoints ex-Sulake boss as CEO

New Finnish developer Small Giant Games has appointed the former CEO of Habbo Hotel outfit Sulake as its new chief exec.

As reported by Venturebeat, Timo Soininen is leaving his currently role at mobile engagement marketing firm Sunduka to join the start-up.

The developer is currently working on a free-to-play title for iOS and Android due for initial release this summer.

“I’m very excited to join the Small Giant team as the CEO and look forward to working full-time with the team," said Soininen.

"I have a long history of working together with some of the core team members already at Sulake, so I know a lot can be expected from this exceptionally talented and creative team."

Small Giant COO Otto Nieminen added" “Timo’s long experience in the gaming space and leading a growth company is a perfect fit to our team.”

Helsinki-based studio Small Giant Games was named in last year’s Develop 100 European start-ups list, which you can view in your browser or on iPad.
