Germany-based firm focusing on educational games for children

Former Zynga devs open new mobile studio Kidcore

A team of former Zynga Germany developers have opened a new mobile game studio in Germany.

The Mainz-situated developer is made up of CEO Rocco Di Leo, CTO Sascha Goebel and CPO Tim Keszler.

The studio aims to create educational apps for children on mobile devices.

Speaking to GamesIndustry, the developer said it would not be supporting in-app purchases or in-app advertising in its titles, as this did not support its vision for responsible products for children.

"Kidcore is another market segment we hereby define,” read a statement from the firm.

“We are looking at parents who are open to share mobile gaming with their kids early but want to make sure it results in an experience which is leveraging the critical first few years of life.

“On the other hand we want to eliminate all factors we think do not support our vision of responsible children products like in-app purchases or in-app advertising. Children will be protected from commercial distractions.”
