GDC COUNTDOWN: Google, Playdom and Spry Fox to talk at Social Games Summit

Browser gaming will be a central topic at the Social and Online Games Summit at GDC, with search engine giant Google and developers Playdom and Spry Fox added to the roster of speakers.

Google software engineer Vincent Scheib will be hosting ‘The bleeding edge of open web tech’, looking at the latest developments in browser gaming, focusing on client side web tech such as WebGL and Web Sockets.

Playdom creative director Eric Todd will examine the development of its Facebook hidden object title Gardens of Time, whilst Spry Fox CEO will discuss how its choices affec the bottom line of its Flash-based MMO Realm of the Mad God.

GDC 2012 runs from March 5th to 9th. Representatives from studios such as Naughty Dog, Blizzard, Electronic Arts and Halfbrick will each take stage in San Francisco to discuss a broad range of subjects.
