In-game currency available to purchase power-ups

GDC: PopCap releases Solitaire Blitz for Facebook

PopCap has released card game Solitaire Blitz on Facebook following a successful February beta.

The title features an acquatic theme, and tasks players with clearing their decks faster than their opposition.

The Facebook title will also include in-game currency that can be used to gain power-ups such as boosts.

“We’ve taken the world’s most well-known card game and created an exciting new social version using PopCap’s incredibly popular time-based Blitz mechanic made famous by Bejeweled Blitz and Zuma Blitz,” said PopCap marketing manager Scott Willoughby.

“We’ve evolved a traditionally solitary pastime into a friendly, shared experience that’s fun for all ages.”
