In-app marketing firm helping track app invites in Nibblers and Smash Squad

GetSocial secures Rovio and WG Cells deals

The developer behind Angry Birds is one of the latest firms to sign a partnership with GetSocial.

The marketing platform specialises in tools such as in-app chat and activity feeds that help devs improve the social media marketing potential for their games. Several developers use its tools – now including Rovio and WG Cells.

Both studios are making use of GetSocial’s Smart Invites, a tool that lets players send game invites and recommendations via popular social media and apps such as Twitter, Facebook, Whatsapp and Line. Devs can then tracks how many invites lead to installs.

Rovio is using this tool in puzzle game Nibblers, while WG Cells has integrated it into snooker-like action game Smash Squad.

GetSocial claims to have high conversion rates with an average of over 18 per cent from click to install – reportedly higher than other forms of invite and referral. You can find out more at the firm’s website.
