Tim Wilson, previously of Electronic Arts, has joined leading free-to-play firm Glu Mobile as CTO.
He leaves EA after 20 years at the company, having joined as CTO in 1995. During his time at EA, he served as chief technology officer for several of the publisher’s games labels, as well as the Core Mobile Group and All Play, finally heading up the EADP Mobile Platform where he improved the operation of mobile games.
GamesIndustry reports he is expected to have a similar function at Glu, the firm behind leading free-to-play games such as Kim Kardashian: Hollywood.
Glu CEO Niccolo de Masi said: “I expect his expertise and track record of excellence to optimise the services that support Glu’s planned growth.”
Wilson has said that he is keen to focus on free-to-play games, believing this model has “the greatest potential for growth”.
