Company specialises in offering services for Iberian and Latin American Spanish

Keywords acquires localisation outfit Kite Team

Keywords Studios has acquired audio recording and localisation firm Kite Team.

The company has offices in Madrid, Spain and a new facility in Mexico City. The firm specialises in offering services for Iberian and Latin American Spanish.

Keywords will acquire 50 per cent of the company effective immediately, with the remaining half to be purchased from December 31st, 2007 dependent on reaching certain conditions.

”Following on from our investment in Brazil with the acquisition of Reverb in January this year, the acquisition of Kite Team provides us with an important base from which to service the localisation and audio requirements for the growing market for Latin American Spanish video games in both North and South America,” said Keywords Studios CEO Andrew Day.

"The Latin American market for digital games is forecast to grow from $1.1 billion in 2013 to $2.5 billion by 2018, representing a 17% 5-year CAGR. In addition, as a single language provider with market leading talent, the Madrid operation will allow the Group to offer this important language to those clients that prefer to source languages separately rather than adopting a multi lingual approach”.
