Lockwood opens virtual reality studio in Brighton

UK developer Lockwood Publishing is in the process of opening a brand new studio on Britain’s south coast.

The new branch will be based in Brighton and will take a different direction from its parent. While Lockwood is best known for 3D virtual world Avakin Life, the Brighton team will focus on virtual reality and artificial intelligence.

Pocket Gamer reports that the team will be led by Bruce Heather. Heather previously served as both CTO and COO at Relentless Software, as well as technical director at Electronic Arts.

Lockwood is currently hiring for various positions across both studios, with the team in Nottingham now standing at around 30 members.
