Former IGN editor in chief and Reverb Publishing CEO to head Midnight City

Majesco launches indie publishing label

Majesco has launched its own indie publishing label by the name of Midnight City.

The company has been struggling to keep itself listed on the NASDAQ market, and before embarking on this latest venture took to the social casino game market.

Midnight City will be run by Casey Lynch and Doug Kennedy, respectively the former editor in chief of IGN and president and CEO at Reverb Publishing.

The pair seem to be adopting a strategy similar to Kennedy’s plan at Reverb – taking indie developers by the hand and helping them through the approval processes for Xbox, PlayStation, and various PC platforms.

The Midnight City lineup currently consists of ten games, including Ty Taylor’s the Bridge, Mark Hadley’s Slender: The Arrival, and Blood of the Werewolf.

"Having been front and centre watching the tidal wave of independent games coming through IGN, Majesco’s move to get behind these games truly speaks to the commitment they are making to the independent development community," said Lynch.

"We’re here to help with everything from first-party relations, QA, promotion and community building and to put a spotlight on the titles while freeing the development teams to focus 100 per cent of their energy on building the best games possible."
