Special section of eShop launched to highlight titles and provide a behind-the-scenes look at devs’ favourite games

Nintendo throws the spotlight on ‘Nindies’ with Summer Jam event

Nintendo is stepping up its support for indies with a new event focused solely on independent efforts.

The Nindies Summer Jam, which for some reason actually kicks off in September and runs into the first quarter of 2017, will work to promote and offer sales on a selected number of smaller-budget games.

This will include 10 per cent off a specific title launched on the eShop for 3DS and Wii U for its first week during September.

In addition, a new section of the eShop will allow the devs behind each highlighted release to curate a list of their favourite games and post behind-the-scenes looks at how they developed their own title.

Among the games set to receive special treatment during September are Steamworld Heist, Axiom Verge, Noitu Love Devolution, Jotun, Fast Racing Neo, Dub Wars, Severed, Azure Striker Gunvolt and Zarvot.
