But Develop sources offer conflicting accounts of events

Report: Crytek UK staff stage walkout

A large number of employees at the Crytek UK office have staged a walkout and are no longer going to work, according to a report.

People “familiar with the situation” have told Kotaku that employees have handed in formal grievance letters and stopped working.

One source claimed that as many as 100 people had left the studio, though it is not yet clear how many of these are permanent.

Develop has received conflicting accounts from multiple sources. One person with knowledge of the matter claimed staff had walked out this week, “effectively leaving their jobs”.

Another source said it was “not true” and “lots of people were still there working as of yesterday”.

We have reached out to Crytek for comment.

The news comes shortly after Develop was told staff had not been paid their full wages since April.

Staff were said to have been paid around £700 in May. Other staff are thought to have been promoted to senior roles but without pay rises “equivalent to the job role”. Senior staff are required to hand in three months notice if they choose to resign.
