Teams up with Epic Games’ Tanya Watson, announces studio with a comic and a mascot

Rick & Morty co-creator forms new VR studio Squanchtendo Games

Justin Roiland, one of the minds behind Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty, has formed a new games development studio dedicated entirely to VR.

In what can only be described as the broadest definition of ‘press release’ we’ve ever encountered, Roiland sent a comic strip to the media introducing his new business Squanchtendo Games.

Squanchtendo has been co-founded by Roiland and Tanya Watson, formerly of Epic Games. Watson was an executive producer and worked on the original Gears of War trilogy, Bulletstorm and Fortnite.

The comic also introduced Little Splzooshly, a hyperactive, foul-mothed cartoon, er, thing that will serve as the studio’s mascot.

Squanchtendo Games is currently hiring, and promises to make “a ton of announcements” about “some crazy old VR games”.
