Seven games to be taken offline for good by May 20th

Sony switching off Gran Turismo 5 and Resistance trilogy servers

Sony is to switch off the servers for a number of PS3 titles including Gran Turismo 5 and all three Resistance games.

Inomniac’s Resistance trilogy, the third of which was released just over two years ago, will have their online components stripped away from March 28th.

Gran Turismo 5 meanwhile will have its servers closed on May 20th, despite having sold ten million copies since its release in 2010.

Polyphony recently released Gran Turismo 6 on PS3.

As well as these titles, of January 28th, strategy games SOCOM: Special Forces, SOCOM: Confrontation and multiplayer FPS MAG will be also taken offline.

A number of titles have previously been taken offline on PS3, including MotorStorm, Race Driver: GRID, Formula One Championship Edition and The Lord of The Rings: Conquest.
