American developer to use engine for upcoming Marvel Super Hero Squad MMO

The Amazing Society picks Unity

Washington-based developer The Amazing Society has adopted the Unity engine for a new Marvel MMO.

The team, which has cumulatively shipped over 100 games, is making Marvel Super Hero Squad together with the comics giant, aimed at all ages.

“By selecting the Unity engine, The Amazing Society was able to have players playtesting our core gameplay in a matter of weeks after we started development," said Jason Robar, VP of The Amazing Society. "Unity really fits well into our agile-based development philosophy of getting to the fun as fast as possible.”

Nicholas Francis, Unity Chief Creative Officer, added: ”Unity has always been focused on workflow and quick iteration time. It’s fantastic to see this being put to use across the spectrum. Being able to land studios of The Amazing Society’s calibre and the games they create is just amazing.”
