New tutorials released for latest iteration

Unity 5 beta opens

Unity has opened up the Unity 5 beta to users to existing Pro subscribers and those who pre-order the latest version of the engine.

A series of new tutorials have also been released covering shading and lighting, audio and animation to help developers get to grips with the new tools.

Unity 5 includes a number of new additions such as the integration of Geomerics’ lighting tech Enlighten and a new built-in physically-based shader system.

Unity has also partnered with Imagination Technologies to ship the engine with in-editor real-time lightmap light map previews using PowerVR Ray Tracing tech, while the Unity Cloud cross-promotion network will be officially launched alongside the update.
