EU LCS format and groups decided

The format and groups for the 2017 EU LCS Spring Split have been announced, with the competition due to start next week.

The ten teams have been split into two groups of five. For the first three weeks teams will play against everyone in their group. Then for weeks four through seven teams will play against the teams in the other group. The last three weeks return to the same format as the first three, with teams playing against their own group.

Group A is made up of G2 Esports, Fnatic, Misfits, Giants Gaming and Team ROCCAT. Group B features H2K-Gaming, Splyce, Team Vitality, Unicorns of Love and Origen.

The top three teams from each group will make it to the playoffs, with the top seed in each group going into the semi finals. For relegation only the bottom team from each group will play in the relegation tournament, where they will play a swiss format against the top two Challenger Series team.

The split kicks off next Thursday, January 19th, at 4pm UK time.
