HTC partners up with Currys PC World, Overclockers UK and Scan for Vive VR

Starting today (Thursday, March 17th), consumers can try and pre-order HTC’s Vive VR headset at a number of PC-focused brick and mortar stores.

The tech giant will be bringing its virtual reality hardware to Currys PC World (Leeds Birstall, Reading and Tottenham Court Road locations), Overclockers UK (Newcastle-under-Lyme) and Scan Computers International (Bolton).

HTC Vive has been priced at 689 in the UK. When it went on sale on its own store, the hardware shifted 15,000 units in just ten minutes.

Through our partnerships with the UK’s leading consumer electronic retailers, we’re thrilled to offer the public additional avenues to experience and pre-order Vive at in-store locations nationwide,” HTC’s European VP for VR Peter Frolund said.

What truly brings Vive to life is trying it first hand, and we can’t wait to bring this opportunity to as many consumers as possible.”
