Inafune Kickstarts another Mega Man successor

Ahead of the release of Might No. 9 in September, Keiji Inafune has taken to Kickstarter with another Mega Man successor.

Red Ash: The Indelible Legend is described as an open-world game with third-person shooter elements. Many of its developers previously worked on cancelled 3DS game Mega Man: Legends. So far it has only been confirmed for PC.

Also on Kickstarter is a campaign to fund an associated anime called Red Ash: Magicicada, which will be made by Japanese animators Studio 4C. Its credits include Catherine and Asura’s Wrath, as well as the 2011 Thundercats reboot.

Both campaings are being run by Inafune’s Comcept and both will feature characters Beck and Call from Mighty No. 9.

The Indelible Legend is looking for $800k (of which it has already raised $245k) while Magicicada hopes to raise $150k (and is already at $57k).

Mighty No.9 successfully raised $3.8m in 2013, smashing its $900k target.
