LulzSec spokesperson arrested

The Metropolitan Police has arrested an 18-year-old man believed to be the spokesperson of hacking groups LulzSec and Anonymous.

The man – known as ‘Topiary’ – was tracked by the police’s e-crime unit and has been transported from an address in the Shetland Islands to London.He was arrested under section 3 of the Computer Misuse Act and section 1 of the Criminal Law Act.

A home in Lincolnshire has also been searched and a 17-year-old questioned. The news comes after the arrest of 19-year-old Ryan Clearyand a 16-year-old who has been bailed and will return for questioning in August.

LulzSec claims it has hacked a number of websites over the past few months including games companies such as Nintendo and Bethesda and other organisations including the NHS and even the FBI.

"Today’s operation is linked to [an e-crime] investigation into network intrusions and Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks against a number of international business and intelligence agencies by what is believed to be the same hacking group," a police statement read.
