Annual losses expected at Sony

PS3 platform holder Sony is expected to post an operating loss of $1.1bn for its financial year ending March 31st, according to Japanese business daily the Nikkei.

Reuters reports that the loss could be as high as $2.2bn depending on how the next three months pan out for the firm. If correct, it will be the tech firm’s fist loss for 14 years and only its second since it went public in 1958.

In October Sony forecasted a full-year operating profit of $2.2bn, which was down from an earlier predicted of around $5bn.
