Dead Rising 2 confirmed

Just hours after apparent leaked footage of the game began to appear on YouTube, Capcom has revealed that Dead Rising 2 is in development for Xbox 360 and, for the first time, PS3 and PC.

It has also been confirmed that the game has been handed out to a Western developer, Canadian studio Blue Castle Games. A number of team members from the original title, including Capcom’s global head of research and development Keiji Inafune, will also be working on the title.

Dead Rising 2 is set a number of years after the first title and sees a world where zombie outbreaks have not yet been contained. It will be set in a Vegas-like setting, dubbed Fortune City. Whether it will replicate the first game’s controversial save system is yet to be revealed.

Dead Rising was released on Xbox 360 in late 2006, and was one of the first triple-A hits for the console.
