Vitality Sensor over a year away

The Nintendo Vitality Sensor will not make it to market in 2009, with Nintendo president Saturo Iwata pointing to a launch in the second half of 2010.

The device clips to a user’s finger and can measure their pulse. Expected applications include fitness software, though don’t be surprised to see Nintendo expanding its use to more unconventional titles.

We would like to deliver the actual product not too late in the year next year,” Iwata revealed in an investor Q&A.
