EA welcomes Tigers return

Those of you who’ve dared to stray from MCVuk.com today may well have noticed that Tiger Woods has announced that he will, following last year’s ‘transgressions’, return to the world of competitive golf at the Masters in Augusta next month.

It’s good news for Tiger, good news for golf and good news for journalists – and also good news for publisher EA.

We’re all really looking forward to seeing Tiger back on the golf course,” a spokesperson stated when asked by MCV. All eyes will be on Augusta in a few weeks.”

The publisher added that Tiger’s real-life struggles have done nothing to hurt the performance of new venture Tiger Woods PGA Tour Online.

We’ve been pleased with the response to Tiger Woods PGA Tour Online since it went open beta in January and hope that only grows with Tiger’s return to the course and our upcoming commercial launch of the product.”

EA announced earlier today that upcoming console release Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 will include the Ryder Cup licence and will be released on July 2nd.
